Parkerizing

Begley International have been using the Parkerizing process as a method to control and protect its non painted, machined steel components from corrosion, for many years.

Parkerizing (also called phosphating) is a method of protecting a steel surface from corrosion and increasing its resistance to wear through the application of an electrochemical phosphate conversion coating. The Parkerizing process cannot be used on non-ferrous metals such as aluminum, brass, or copper, or be applied to steels containing a large amount of nickel, or stainless steel.

Weld Overlays

Begley International has been overlaying Inconel onto Alloy Steels for a number of years.Weld overlay materials are available in a variety of compositions, and generally selected depending upon the environmental variables.

In an environment where corrosion is a significant factor, inconel weld overlays, are becoming commonly used as protection against corrosive attack. Ring Grooves and Seal areas are the predominant places where Inconel overlay is used to preserve the integrity of an item, and significantly increase its life expectancy.
